Four Benefits of Winter Tree Pruning

November 5, 2013

Many homeowners don’t realize that the best time to call a tree service get their trees pruned is in the winter. Here are four benefits to tree pruning during the winter months.

  • Accessibility – Firmer ground allows the tree workers better access to places with equipment that they may not be able to reach during rainy seasons.
  • Visibility – Without leaves trees will have no canopy. This means problem limbs are more visible, making it for pruning decisions.
  • Dormant Growth – Trees enter a dormant growth state during the winter. Dangerous and damaged limbs will be exposed until the spring when trees will enter the strong growth state that comes with the spring season.
  • Everyone has More Time – Homeowners are swamped during the summer months with all sorts of outside landscaping projects. Why not move some of that load to the winter. The same goes for tree service companies. Demand is lower in the winter so scheduling is easier and more flexible for everyone.
